Google: Android 2.1 running on 55.5 percent of Android smartphones

Today Google published data suggesting that 55.5 percent of all Android smartphones are running the Android 2.1 (Eclair) version of the Android OS. Android 2.2 (Froyo) accounts for 3.3 percent, Android 1.6 (Donut) is on 22.1 percent, and Android 1.5 (Cupcake) 18.9 percent.
